where I started with my crystal talisman jewelry 6 years ago, to where I'm at today
•
Ahhh Facebook memories continue to bring me perspective! I'm not sure what we did before technology, I can't say that I would have kept a photo album of my jewelry designs from back in the day.
I've talked a bit about how I started with talisman jewelry. My original design, The Original Talisman, is still available. You can read more about that on this post.
I remember desperately wanting to do metal work. I had started out with gemstone beads and then moved onto wire wrapping. I took an online course and this was my first attempt with a piece of raw rose quartz.
It wasn't great but it was my first piece of wire wrapped jewelry. And it was an important step in my evolution of discovering my style or voice as an artist. It was less than a year later that I started utilizing the Tiffany technique, muddling along and figuring things out as I went.
This is where I'm at today. My photography has improved, my metalwork has improved (I'm sure I still have one of my very first pieces stashed somewhere), and I've discovered my esthetic that still continues to evolve.
I've honed my creativity so that I now think in collections, in weaving a story for all the pieces collectively and individually. The raw sparkly quartz talisman above is from my upcoming Winter Wisdom Collection that will be released in February.
