Here we are, in the intense lead up to the much anticipated and highly prophesied solar eclipse. The intensity of this portal will develop over the coming months and years, as with most anything in life, it will all take time to unfold.
The card for this Leo new moon solar eclipse is the 10 of wands from the Tarot of the Sacred Feminine. Wands represent the fire element, they are indicative of creativity, inspiration, and ambition. They are the seed of an idea or intention that grows into something larger.
The 10 of wands specifically represents the completion of a cycle. With all that has been transpiring globally, I think it's safe to say we are being called to reexamine the outdated and divisive ways of the past. Have we truly prepared to succeed in the future? This is an opportunity to take stock and make adjustments accordingly so that we can ensure we are individually and collectively supported and prepared.
Seeing that we have five planetary bodies all retrograde (appearing to move backwards), this isn't the time for rash decisions and elaborate new plans. This is a time of introspection, of reevaluation, of digging deep and reflecting on some simple steps that each of us can integrate as a means to be more responsible and aware moving forward.
Maybe this looks like checking in with a friend and letting them know just how much they mean to you. Maybe it's having a candid discussion with our kids at the supper table about the truth of our history. Maybe it's buying someone behind you in the drive-thru their order. Maybe it's acknowledging our humanness, extending ourselves compassion, and resolving to do better for our future generations. Maybe it's burning shit to channel our anger. Maybe it's screaming into a pillow. Maybe it's taking a warm bath and having a good cry. Maybe it's eating some fucking cake, just because it tastes good.
There needs to be room for self-care, room for giving back, and room for enjoyment. Rome wasn't built in a day and oppression was methodically carried out over centuries. It's going to take time to shift out of this.
With all the noise in the world right now, I am trying to remember it's the little things. I am sure that this could be argued that all the little complacencies are what led us here. I like to think that it's the little acts of kindness, the one-to-one conversations amongst intimate groups of like-minded women, the values and awareness that we cultivate in our homes that have the profound ability to make a difference. It's when we listen to hear and not respond as a way to deflect our own discomfort, that we are cultivating change.
The actual depiction on this card is a woman, her left receiving hand is held up, open and welcoming guidance. Her right hand, representing the masculine is anchoring the space close to her heart. And the focal point, her heart... which is actually the world. This solar eclipse in Leo, which is known for it's bravery, courage, and HEART, is urging us to receive guidance and share vulnerabilities. It is showing us that the path towards healing our world lies within our hearts. Reflect on what it means to be heartled. Connect with your heart, what wisdom does it have to impart? I would take a wild guess that it would whisper words of connection, compassion, and gentleness.
The crystals I chose were fluorite and amethyst.
Fluorite is highly protective. It is excellent at filtering EMFs and blocking geopathic stress. It’s awesome for supporting progress in all aspects of one’s life. It is a stone that is wonderful for physical and mental coordination. It can aid in grounding excess mental energy, and helps one assimilate new information. It supports organization, routine, and balance. It’s a wonderful healer and is thought to provide pain relief, especially pain that is nerve-related. Fluorite helps shield us from the bull-shit, sift through all the information we are being blasted with, and find a middle ground amongst it all.
Amethyst is highly protective and a bringer of peace. It is a stone of spirituality and contentment. It is well known for alleviating insomnia caused by racing thoughts or an overactive mind. It can align and harmonize all of the energetic centers of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. It is associated with sobriety. Amethyst connects us to the divine. With all the sleeplessness from this eclipse period, I figure we can use all the help we can get ;)
Here's the mantra for this new moon:
There is only one way, and that's straight through.
I firmly put down the burdens and conditioning that I have been carrying for far too long.
This cultivates space, lightness, and hope within me.
As I move forward on the path ahead, I go gently, ever so gently.
Compassion and reverence shining from my heart, showing me the way.
