This new moon in Libra is showing us where the stark imbalances of humanity lie, it's peeling back the layers and entanglements of the abuse of power and the mistreatment of our fellow humans.
This comes as no surprise to us women, but what has surprised me is the vast depth of it. I don't know that any of us can truly grasp the magnitude of it. How this has gone on for centuries, and how even in the 21st century it is something we contend with on a daily basis. The shock of it's reach and how embedded it is into our society is what is staggering to me. How do we facilitate change?
The six of wands speaks to the fire in our bellies that wants to be screamed out in outrage as a means to facilitate change. It is the card that speaks of solidarity, of locking arms together for a common cause, and being victorious. This is the card that mirrors the #metoo movement that is taking over social media. One where women are sharing their stories, releasing the shame, using their rage to create connection and holding those who were in positions of power accountable for their actions.
The Hedge card speaks of boundaries. It is a card that urges us to hold firm with our boundaries, to fiercely carve them out as an act of self-care. It is a card with deep ties to the old ways, to the connection that women all had at one time to the earth, to the plants, to nature. This is a time when we are at the presipice of reclaiming all that was stolen and taken from us. From the times when women were burned alive for working with plants and aiding women in their communities during times of childbirth and transition. No more. We are banding together and saying no more. No more to the stealing, looting, and raiding of the feminine. No more to gas-lighting, shaming, guilting, and blaming. No more to offloading the burdens of emotional labour onto our weary shoulders. NO MORE. WE RISE TOGETHER!
I chose carnelian this month as it's a stone known for imparting strength and energy, which is especially suited to those of us who are feeling so weary and tired for the journey that lies ahead. We have all been through so much and we could definitely use some assistance and vigor to keep us going...along with the caffeine that runs through many of our veins ;)
Carnelian belongs to the family of agates. These stones are known for their ability to build strength over time, so they have a gentle, nurturing quality that gains momentum over a longer period. The orange color resonates with the sacral or second chakra where our sensuality, inner child, and connection with our inner beauty lie. This is a center where we can utilize our creative orgasmic power as a means towards healing on a larger scale.
Carnelian is a stone of creativity and vitality. It’s provides vigor and determination. It aids one in staying anchored in the present and provides the motivation to achieve great tasks. Carnelian imparts trust in one’s self. It helps to release anger and provides emotional protection from negative thoughts.
Here's the affirmation for this Libra new moon:
Healing begins when I firmly say NO MORE.
Healing begins when I stand in solidarity with my community.
Healing begins when I hold others accountable for their actions.
Healing begins when I softly say to myself,
"You are fogiven for all the things you never did but blamed yourself for".
Healing happens when I say
YES to me,
YES to the empowered feminine,
and YES to my rage!
