Well eclipse season has arrived with a full moon partial eclipse in the sign of Aquarius. The moon rules our emotional body and is symbolic of our relationship with our mother or the maternal side of our lineage. Aquarius also rules democracy and community, it plays a big role when it comes to relationships. You may find yourself experiencing shifts or new found appreciation when it comes to this area of your life.
Full moons are all about illumination. Seeing as this full moon is happening in the sign of the water bearer, we are being urged to bring more awareness into how we can cultivate more compassion in our hearts. How can we offer ourselves some deep healing? Can we use the basin with healing waters of the Aquarian bearer to gain wisdom in the areas which we desire to show up more fully for ourselves? And more importantly, what are some tendencies or beliefs we are ready to let go of?
The build up to this full moon has us all feeling a bit intense. As such, I pulled out a bunch of heart stones to assist us in feeling soothed, grateful, and appreciative of all the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. The juicy, pink softness of these stones remind me to go gently, walk softly, and to be committed to receiving more fully all the gifts that life is offering me. A nod to the power of the feminine within each of us, which is always whispering to me "How are you tending to the the essence of your femininity?".
I think as women we owe it to ourselves to discover what our own unique femininity is and to take steps to honor it. I can tell you that it isn't what mass marketing and social media tells us. It isn't self sacrifice, martyrdom, and doing it all. It isn't a perfectly polished exterior, or a super model body. For me, it's ebb and flow, connection, release, nature, ritual, and sacred space.
I am using the Mother Mary Oracle deck from Alana Fairchild for this reading. I really thought I had faired quite well in the lead up to this full moon but then all of a sudden my anxiety spiked yesterday, which probably has to do with the fact that my cycle synced with this full moon ;) Whenever I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, this is the deck that I reach for.
The card, Our Lady of Charity, is asking us to let go of shame, guilt, and self-sacrifice. She is here to offer grace, protection, and assistance. It is time to drop the illusions and see situations as they truly are. To make our healing a priority, creating ripples that reach farther than we could ever imagine.
As an empath, I easily take on other people's perceptions and feelings, which can cloud my own discernment. When we can really connect to our inner fire, that essence of our femininity, I think we can begin to feel rooted in who we are and the solidity of our own integrity. This helps us to be anchored, grounded, and committed to ourselves, which permits us to serve those around us ways in that are much more aligned.
The mantra for this full moon is:
When I bravely let go of the past,
I feel purified and renewed.
This allows me to connect with and honor
My truth, my sovereignty, and my heart.
Creating space to welcome and cultivate more of what heals;
A life and future filled with happiness, joy, and grace.
