Here we are at the first full moon, post eclipse season. Whew!! How did everyone fair it all? I am still trying to find my feet and noticing the subtleties continuing to come through. They will continue for the next six months, at the very least.
This full moon in Pisces is here to give us some breathing room. September is a crazy month for many of us with back to school and getting settled into a more structured routine after months of sunshine and freedom.
With the sun residing in Virgo, we can easily get caught up in worry and thinking of the million and one things that need doing. I have totally been getting caught up in my own anxieties; the to-do lists never seem to be complete and there's always more stuff to tend to.
Pisces is actually the opposite sign of Virgo on the astrological wheel. Where Virgo takes inventory, dissects, and makes a plan, Pisces just goes with the flow. We are being reminded to breathe and surrender. To trust and allow. Not an easy thing for many of us to do <3
The card I chose this time is from the third edition of the Oracle of Oddities from Black and the Moon. Dharma. Really, I can't believe I picked the card that is all about cosmic order, duty, and our current reality. This card speaks of order amongst the chaos. The very internal struggle that so many of us are grappling with. All roads lead to somewhere, hey? What is our duty to ourselves and our truth? How can we uphold our beliefs and integrity? Pisces represents imagination, but also illusions and deception. How can we work with what we have when we sometimes feel so deceived? So many questions come up for me with this card. I think I will embrace the healing watery Pisces vibes and just allow all the thoughts to wash over me. I am trying to not grasp too tightly, I will just let them come in and out like the ebb and flow of the tides. Curiously noticing what sensations come up in my body. Contemplating and surrendering, knowing that I am not required to act or do.
I included this beautiful constellation art from my soul sister, Mahshed with Paper Ocelot Studios. I am completely captivated with this stunning original piece of art and thought what a perfect opportunity to share it, for us to all admire :)
For the crystal, I chose smoky quartz. I have been feeling the shift towards fall here in the northern hemisphere. I find myself drawn to the warmer tones and crystals. I have been wearing a lot of amber, smoky quartz, lodolite, rutilated quartz, and phantom quartz. I normally feel very melancholy this time of year, probably because winter is such a long season on the Canadian prairies. This year I find that I am transitioning more gently and don't have as much impending doom looming over me ;)
Smoky Quartz is highly protective and grounding, with strong connections with the earth and lower chakras. It aids one to release what no longer serves them and bring in more positivity. It alleviates fear and calms emotions. Smoky quartz helps to accept the physical body and one's primal nature so that the root chakra opens and passion can flow with ease. It's also known to alleviate nightmares and support manifesting one's dreams. It is helpful in supporting clear thoughts and effortless communication. It is also great for headaches and general pain relief, which is probably why I chose it. I have had some pretty intense migraines with this full moon.
Here's the mantra for this full moon:
When I take time for self-care and replenishment,
I increase my capacity to show up for myself and others when it matters the most.
I choose to support my need for rest and integration without guilt.
This permits me to release burdens, nurture connections,
And anchor my dreams in grounded and sustainable ways.
