This Virgo new moon has been challenging. Anyone with strong Virgo aspects will be feeling this one with five planets currently residing in Virgo.
Virgo is the sign of the Virgin which actually translates to sovereign and pure of heart, not virginal the way our patriarchal society would like us to believe. This is the sign of the high priestess. The one that is true to herself, her heart, and through that, is of great service to humanity.
With the theme of priestess and femininity playing out this new moon, I chose to use the Tarot of Sacred Feminine. I have paired it with a golden apatite crystal. The beautiful beeswax candle is from the lovely Queen Bee, Brittany, of HumbleBee Candles.
The eight of wands was the card that was selected. This card shows up and tells us if you have been waiting for a time to declare yourself, your time has officially arrived! It is a card that indicates action, manifestation, and putting all your plans into motion. It is indicative of fast change.
With all this Virgo energy I see this as an opportunity to support the rising feminine more than ever. To be advocates for our health; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. To declare that which we require AND to be willing to tend to it ourselves. We need to model that which we are seeking. How often do we self sacrifice and change our boundaries for the betterment of others. This does nothing except uphold the patriarchal system that so desperately needs to change. Can we be brave enough to ask for what we need and be willing to accept that if it's not provided that it is high time we look elsewhere? You better believe I have had it up to my eyeballs with trying to get water from a well that went dry ages ago. I am packing my shit and going elsewhere, are you with me? The eight of wands is lending us the support for focused and productive change. Let's dig a new well together and protect both our own sovereignty and it's healing waters with such fierce clarity everyone will know the respect and reverence it deserves <3
For the crystal, I chose golden apatite. This stone reminds me of citrine in that it supports confidence and willpower but it almost has a more grounded earthy feel about it. Where citrine spreads pure joy and sunshine, apatite supports us in carrying out the work, in the manifestation of the changes we are desiring. It assists us with communicating and maintaining firm, healthy boundaries. It's provides the grit and sustenance we need to dig ourselves a new well.
Here's the mantra for this Virgo new moon:
I accept that I am innately worthy
Of being wholly supported.
I manifest this reality by
Confidently advocating for my needs,
Receiving the abundance that is offered,
And establishing firm, loving boundaries.
This honors and connects the sacred space between us all.
